Kennedy Family Takes St. Patrick’s Photo With Biden At WH — Minus RFK, Jr.

The Kennedys have never shied away from symbolism, and it’s not hard to read the political message in a St. Patrick’s Day photo taken at the White House that includes President Joe Biden and dozens of members of the iconic political clan but very obviously does not include the family member who is himself running for the presidency: RFK, Jr.

The photo was posted by the candidate’s sister, Kerry Kennedy, who has been outspoken in her criticism of her brother. When he declared his bid last year, Kerry Kennedy posted a statement distancing herself from his controversial views. Other members of the family have also spoken out. The most recent post seems more a statement by omission.

Along with the photo, which features former congressman Patrick Kennedy, Ambassador Caroline Kennedy and family members of all ages, Kerry Kennedy wrote, “It’s not enough to wish the world were better, you must make the world better. President Biden, you make the world better. Happy St. Patrick’s Day.”

Patrick Kennedy tweeted additional photos, writing, “What an honor to spend St. Patrick’s Day afternoon at the@WhiteHouse with friends, family, and world leaders @POTUS.”

Biden retweeted the post and replied, “From one proud Irish family to another — it was good to have you all back at the White House.”
