Jane Seymour’s ‘Harry Wild’ Returns, Acorn TV Rolls Out New Brand Look

EXCLUSIVE: Acorn TV, the streaming service aimed at Anglophiles, is getting a new look.

Parent company AMC Networks is giving the streamer a brand refresh with a new logo and tagline ahead of the return of its originals slate. This comes as it prepares for the launch of season three of Harry Wild, the drama starring Jane Seymour.

The series will return to Acorn TV on May 13 and will have a co-premiere on AMC Networks-backed BBC America. Seymour, best known for starring in Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, Bond film Live and Let Die and Netflix’s The Kominsky Method, plays Harry, who along with Rohan Nedd’s Fergus, is hired to prove the lead singer of Ireland’s hottest boy band didn’t kill himself, find out who decapitated a woman in a busy restaurant, discover who murdered a despotic director on the set of Ireland’s leading daytime soap opera, work out how a mystery writer managed to shoot himself in a locked panic room without a gun.

Meanwhile, with the agency still as busy as ever, Harry and Fergus have to find a way to balance work and life as Fergus plans to contest Paula’s custody claim to his sister.

Samantha Mumba, Kevin Ryan, Amy Huberman, Paul Tylak and Rose O’Neill also star in the series, which is produced by Dynamic Television. It was created by David Logan, who writes along with Jo Spain. Seymour, Daniel March, Klaus Zimmermann, James Gibb, Morgan O’Sullivan, James Flynn, Catherine Mackin and Bea Tammer exec produce.

Acorn TV’s new pithy tagline is “Brilliant”, which the company hopes sums up its slate of international mysteries, dramas, and comedies.

Elsewhere, on the slate is Lucy Lawless’ My Life Is Murder, which returns for its fourth season in June, Emilia Fox’s Signora Volpe, which returns for its second season in July, the third season of Under The Vines, which launches this summer and seasons three of Dalgliesh and Whitstable and the second season of Recipes For Love and Murder, which launch this fall.

The network also recently commissioned Ellis, a feature-length detective drama series starring Sharon D. Clarke, and has Sally Lindsay’s The Madame Blanc Mysteries ending its three season run on March 18.

“Acorn TV is a beloved streaming brand that goes deep on international mysteries, dramas and thrillers,” said Kim Granito, chief marketing officer of AMC Networks. “It was one of the world’s first targeted streamers and we’re excited to broaden its audience potential with a modernized campaign that frames Acorn around the shows our subscribers love. Our new tagline – Brilliant – channels the origins of the platform and that sensibility will run through everything we do as we continue to grow Acorn TV’s unique viewing experience for fans.”
