Ali Abbas Zafar shares Exclusive insights on keeping Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff film Patriotic, Not Propagandist

Ali Abbas Zafar, while answering the above question, said, “I would say that if a film is entertaining, it will never fall into the propaganda zone. The idea is to entertain people. Our core identity is that we make cinema for the measure of entertainment, and if through entertainment you can also evoke emotion, if your films can also have a heart or convey something important for society, then you have aced your cinema. We all aspire to make films like this. There are filmmakers who have already done it in this country before. I also aspire that if tomorrow I make a film, I want people to say that along with entertainment, the film also had a good message. But you see, these things happen by chance; you don’t design your film according to that.” Also Read – Bade Miyan Chote Miyan: Ali Abbas Zafar reveals why Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff were the sole choices for the film [Exclusive]

The director further added, “My main core is that if I bring an audience to the theater, there’s enough happening in their personal lives; they have come in this enclosed dark room to forget that for a few hours and enjoy themselves, either by connecting with the film emotionally or being mesmerized by the stunts. That is my core responsibility, and this is how I always direct a film. I see the film first as an audience rather than a director. So my idea is that whenever I do a big-screen outing, these are my checkpoints, and that’s how Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is designed as a film. Does it have a heart? Yes, it has a heart. Is it patriotic? Yes, it’s patriotic. For what reason it is patriotic is something you will understand when you watch the film.”
