Mumbai Indians are all set to take on the Delhi Capitals in their next encounter at the Wankhede Stadium in the penultimate game of the league stage of IPL 2022.

The Rohit Sharma-led side has nothing to lose as they are already knocked out of the race for the playoffs and they will be looking to use the options on the bench in consideration of the future.

They have played some good cricket in the last few games and will be looking to sign off with a victory in what has been a disappointing season for them.

On the other hand, this will be an important fixture for the Delhi Capitals who still have a chance to make it to the playoffs.

The Rishabh Pant-led side registered a good win against Punjab Kings in their previous encounter without the services of Prithvi Shaw and a win in the upcoming fixture would be enough for them to go past RCB on the net run rate.

Shaw is expected to make the playing XI if he gets fit, in place of Sarfaraz Khan.

The last two games at the venue have been excellent for batting and the same could be expected for this fixture as well. The trend has been to bat first after winning the toss in the last few games and hence, the skipper that wins the toss will be looking to bat first.

Ishan Kishan (wk), Rohit Sharma (c), Daniel Sams, Tilak Varma, Ramandeep Singh, Tristan Stubbs, Tim David, Sanjay Yadav/Basil Thampi, Jasprit Bumrah, Riley Meredith/Fabian Allen, Mayank Markande

David Warner, Sarfaraz Khan/Prithvi Shaw, Mitchell Marsh, Rishabh Pant (c & wk), Lalit Yadav, Rovman Powell, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Anrich Nortje, Khaleel Ahmed

David Warner has been the man in form for the Delhi Capitals this season and he would want to make up for the first-ball dismissal in the previous game.

The left-hander is fifth in the race for the Orange Cap with 427 runs at an average of 53.37 and he definitely will be a key player in the must-win encounter against Mumbai.

Shardul Thakur was back at his best in the previous game against Punjab Kings as he bowled an amazing spell and picked up four wickets in the process

His death overs bowling has provided skipper Rishabh Pant with a lot of options to pick from and he will be looking to continue his impressive form from the previous game.
