Punjab Kings (PBKS) will have their task cut out as they will take on the table-toppers Gujarat Titans (GT) in their next group stage encounter of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 to be played at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai on May 3 (Tuesday).

While GT is coming to the match after beating the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their previous match, PBKS had to suffer a defeat at the hands of another new team Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the last match

GT is currently placed first in the points table with eight wins in nine matches. However, PBKS will now have to play at their level best if they want to qualify for the play-offs.

The wickets at the DY Patil Stadium have witnessed teams scoring between 160 and 170 on an average. The new ball gets some movement during field restrictions.

However, if the batters apply themselves on the crease, then they can go on to play a big knock. Considering the dew factor, the skipper winning the toss will want to bat second.

Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan, Hardik Pandya (c), David Miller, Rahul Tewatia, Pradeep Sangwan Rashid Khan, Lockie Ferguson, Mohammed Shami, Alzarri Joseph

Mayank Agarwal (c), Shikhar Dhawan, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Jonny Bairstow, Liam Livingstone, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Rishi Dhawan, Kagiso Rabada Rahul Chahar, Sandeep Sharma, Arshdeep Singh

GT skipper Hardik Pandya has been in some excellent batting form in IPL 2022. The right-handed batter is currently positioned fourth in the most runs list with 308 runs in eight matches and averaging 51.33.

After failing in the last match, Pandya will want to rectify his mistakes and play another vital knock for the new entrants.

Left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh does not have much to show in the wickets column. However, his death bowling has been exceptional in the tournament so far.

Arshdeep has been very accurate with his line and lengths and will want to replicate his performances as compared to the previous match.
